Festive toasts with various toppings.
Tapas Open Sandwiches
Slice your favorite bread, into any thickness or size and toast it. Then top with your favorite ingredients. Possible toppings could include: pesto, caramelized onions, herbed cream cheese, smoked salmon, sliced ham, thinly sliced pork loin, fresh vegetables and herbs, capers, etc. The only limit here is your imagination! Add a little flair, with a light sprinkle of olive oil and/or sea salt and fresh ground pepper right before serving. Fresh herbs also make a great garnish. If you are assembling ahead of time, a cheese slice on the bottom layer works well to avoid the dreaded soggy bottom. Alternatively, you can prepare the ingredients ahead of time and assemble just before serving.
Antipasto skewers on rustic bamboo sticks.
Antipasto Skewers
Simple, elegant, tasty, and colorful... these skewers can be made ahead and will travel very well. Stack in a covered container with parchment paper between layers. Use cheeses (mozzarella pearls are a good choice), olives, vegetables, meats, or even fruits. Goes well with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a plate as a light dipping sauce, or sprinkle with an oil and vinegar herb dressing.

Use a conventional oven, toaster oven or air fryer... Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
