Prevent Warping of Wooden Cutting Boards
To wash a solid wood cutting board be sure to wash and rinse both sides. Then, after it dries, oil it lightly with a food grade oil or a light coat of natural beeswax. This is not only for cleanliness, to avoid contamination, but will also prevent warping of the wood and give it a longer life. If one side is wet and the other side stays dry, the wet side can expand and create pressure that will warp the board.
