September is Eat Local Month
Join us this September as we celebrate the abundance of local food in the Driftless Region. When we say local, we mean products grown or produced within 100 miles of our door. During Eat Local Month we challenge you to build community and strengthen the local economy by choosing local when you shop.
Here's how:
Look for the green local signs on the shelves, some products will even have producer profiles that tell you more information about the people and companies behind the products.
Visit the Local Folks page on our website. Discover the photos and stories of many of our local producers. Learn more about their passion for the land, community and the food they produce.
Meet local producers face to face! Stop by during a sampling to meet local producers and taste fresh, delicious foods.
Sign up for a chance to win a beautiful local food basket filled with products donated by local suppliers.
Pick up a BINGO card at the co-op and play along to discover the many ways you can find local food in our community.
Visit the recipe page on our website to find new ways to prepare local food.
Meet the Local Folks
good. local. food.
At Viroqua Food Co-op, we define local as products grown or produced within a 100 mile radius of the co-op. It's easy to buy and eat local in our area, with so many bountiful sources of great food. We have farms, orchards, greenhouses and dairies, local restaurants and so much more. During Eat Local Month, we invite you to meet your neighbors who provide the food we sell and challenge you to eat local whenever you can.
