Breakfast on-the-Go
Easy & Portable Breakfast Ideas to Fuel Busy Bodies
Busy households know that taking time for breakfast AND getting everyone out the door on time can be a challenge. Get everyone to snack time or lunch without falling apart or falling asleep with these nutritious meal ideas.
Portable breakfast can be simple, and eaten while getting ready or on the way. Breakfast sandwiches or wraps are versatile, easily eaten-on-the-go options. Try scrambled eggs with cheese and a sausage patty (meat or vegetarian), avocado, or the classic peanut butter and honey. Bread can be open-faced and toasted or made into a sandwich. Gently heat tortillas to make them pliable before filling.
Oatmeal, yogurt, and quinoa all make great high-protein breakfasts. Try yogurt or overnight oats in a cup to go, and add fresh berries and nuts or nut butters, for grab and go fuel that will last until lunchtime.
Muffins with fruit and nuts can be baked ahead and frozen, then heated for a quick breakfast or snack. And don't forget about apples, bananas, grapes, and all of nature's other most convenient pre-packaged foods!
A morning stop at the co-op is another great option for hot breakfast, fresh fruit, smoothies and so much more!
