To the Moon
Thursday, February 26, 6:30-8:30pm
Location: The Ark
Run Time: 86 minutes + short discussion following the film
Description: To the Moon is a coming of age story about eighteen college students who bicycle from California to Massachusetts. Going by the name Co-Cycle, they set out to spread awareness about cooperatives, an alternative business model and philosophy they believe to be a solution to the volatile global economy. They experience firsthand what it means to be a cooperative – to designate no leader, to equally distribute all responsibilities, and to decide everything by vote. Sustained the entire way by the kindness of strangers and the vast American landscape, they confront frustrating realities while discovering their place in the world, and the results are at once chaotic, enlightening and unforgettable. A short discussion about the film follows screening. Learn more: www.tothemoonfilm.com
